  • I am a student in the 1997 University of Utah High School Computing Institute .

  • Next year I will be a senior at West Jordan high school.
  • I can't say that my school is the best because the CS department there is pretty worthless! They are teaching stupid future basic on stupid macintosh's! And the teacher doesn't give you much help.
  • However, they have a cool program called Techlab 2000, You pretty much get to do your own thing in there. The CS 2 class last year had 4 people in it, and 2 of them dropped out! On the other hand, the Tech Lab 2000 class had to refuse people because it had too many apply. I wouldn't doubt it if they get rid of the cs classes all together.

    Alpha 1

Alpha 1 is what I learned to use the first 3 weeks of this institute.

  • The Alpha_1 system is an advanced research software base, supporting geometric modeling, high-quality graphics, curve and surface representations and algorithms, engineering design, analysis, visualization, process planning, and computer-integrated manufacturing.

Here is where you will find the images I've made:

    Cassini

  • Cassini is a common lisp program that runs a time-based simulation of a robot rover, exploring saturn's moon Titan.

  • Similar to the rover that just started to explore mars.

  • The objective is to earn points by exploring the terrain and by retrieving objects for analysis by the base.
  • You get to program what the rover does when it runs into certain situations. How it should move, which kinds of objects it should pick up, which kinds of things to zap with a laser or which object to melt. This is called and expert system.
  • I started my rule file the day before it was due, so I didn't have a lot of time to get the bugs worked out, But I feel that it will do OK.
  • Here is my rules and my frobs file and my Interface file.
  • Please do not copy the files directly. You may look at them to get examples of how I did my expert system....But DO NOT copy it!
