Brooke's Plethora-o'-Junk Page

R.E.M. is one of my favorite bands....(well that sure sounded stupid, this is R.E.M. if you didn't already know!)

I am a student in the University of Utah 1996 High School Computing Institute. Next year I will be a senior at Olympus high school. I did not always go to Oly--in tenth grade I attended Granite High School.

I am one of the strangest people I know. (You can even ask my fam. Sometimes even they think I am odd and they watch documentaries on friday nights!?!!?!) I get the feeling they are glad I am here at HSCI this summer and not bothering them. My family is pretty cool even with their documentary fetish. My little sister Catherine is really talented (cartoonist, writer, actress, artist, musician, etc...), she can do almost anything. (Look here for a place she might like.) Because she is so talented I have to fight with her so my parents won't think she is perfect. =] (What else are sisters for?) My younger brother Niel is a perfectionist, which makes him intolerable to live with at times. He also enjoys this place on the net. My youngest brother Jens is not what I would call a calm little kid. He is spoiled rotten by us all, and in return drives us all crazy. Paula, who is nine, still won't sleep without her stuffed rabbit, Thumper. We also have to live with her rapid and dramatic mood swings. My older sister, April, is one of my best friends (most of the time). She has her own idiosyncracies, but would probably kill me if I revealed them....but then she might never even see this. Hmmmmm....enough about my family--lets talk about me!!

I love the entertainment industry (If you hadn't already guessed)! I love movies, music, concerts, plays, books, TV, etc... Some of my favorite movies are the Star Wars movies, Dave, Indiana Jones, Strictly Ballroom, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Clueless. I also enjoy plays. I love the Shakesperean plays. Yesterday (July 4) I went to see Independence Day with my cousins. It was pretty cool (seeing it on the 4th might have made it seem better than it was...but basically I really liked it).

I like lots of different types of music, my favorites change constantly. At the moment Pink Floyd is on the top of my list, but I also like Simon and Garfunkel, The Steve Miller Band, Tears for Fears, REM, Collective Soul, some folk music, and other junk. I have been able to attend some concerts--REM's Monster Tour, Page and Plant, Oingo Boingo, Tears for Fears, and a few others. My favorite of them all was probably R.E.M., but they were all fun! I would never have gone to any concerts if my friend, Brooke (and no this is not me or my imaginary friend, her name is actually Brooke, too), hadn't started dragging me to them.
